Job Title: Deck Leader
Reports to: Facility Leader
Summary:
The Deck Leader is responsible for entire shifts of up to 15 teachers. Deck Leaders oversee the progress and development of students and instructors. For functional success in this position, they must be diplomatic with parents and teachers alike, and are expected to lead a shift’s direction, manage a shift’s resources, and be accountable for results, good or bad (people, performance, profits, and culture). They must set the example in every facet of employment!
You must come to work ready to have fun and create the best environment for your shift. You will be great at communicating with your students, their parents and with your fellow employees. Core Duties and Responsibilities
- Making sure everyone is safe.
- Manage your team to ensure high productivity, excellent performance and positive instructor satisfaction.
- Completion of required training.
- Gain knowledge of JackRabbit software to efficiently run your shift.
- Gain a knowledge of pool operations to maintain a safe and sanitary environment.
- Following the Little Otter Curriculum and being focused on children’s happiness, well-being and progression through our program.
- Ability to work evenings and Saturday am.
- You will teach, and lead shifts.
- Act as a liaison between parent and instructor, addressing all concerns of the customer/parent.
Requirements
- Caring and compassion for children.
- Ability to work in the water for periods of up to 6 hours.
- Strong communication skills.
- Great attitude and willingness to be coached.
- The ability to focus in a fast-paced environment
- High School diploma required. Bachelor’s degree is desired. Experience as youth sports instructor/coach or aquatics instructor/coach is preferred
- One to three years management experience in child sports industry is preferred
- Lifeguard, CPR and first aid required or must be obtained in first 60 days of employment.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs.
Work Environment: While performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to heat and humidity. Noise level is moderate.

Compensation: $14.25 - $17.00 per hour
